Home Recording, November & December 2020. I wrote this on a trip to the Ouchita River in September of 2020. That was fun.

Went down to the river and the river was high

what’s the point of even tryin’ to throw in a line?

The sun was going backwards it was dinosaur time

A pteradactyl flew over me


Went down to the river and the river was low

what’s the point of putin in the boat and the oar

no where to get to, no where to go

The sun dripped like a tangerine


I chucked in some stones, I was not alone

everything was speaking to me

I thought of Aunt Shirley who left way too early

and then the water started to sing



Went down to the river And the river was wide

I could feel it pulling on the moon and the tide

All the little pebblesHad been baptized

What a way to let it ride


the snakes along the bank told me to sing for you

told me to sing for you, so that’s what I’m gonna do

I got some chigger bites, I got a sunburn too
